On Wednesday night, the Etihad Stadium will host a genuine European heavyweight clash, as Manchester City welcome two-time defending champions Paris Saint-Germain. Both sides opened their Champions League campaigns with wins and go into the match in excellent form.
Manchester City have made a brilliant start to the season under Enzo Maresca. They remain unbeaten in the Premier League, and most recently claimed a confident 3–0 win away at Liverpool. Erling Haaland, Jérémy Doku and Rayan Cherki were all on the scoresheet.
City also made a strong start in the Champions League, winning 2–0 away at Porto. Their attacking play has been especially impressive, with 17 goals scored in their last six competitive matches.
PSG have no complaints about their form either. Luis Enrique’s side opened their Champions League campaign with a 6–1 thrashing of Slovan Bratislava and have since won three league games in a row, most recently beating Le Mans 3–1.
In the two sides’ last meeting, in January 2025, Paris came from 0–2 down to win 4–2. Since then, PSG have added two more Champions League trophies to their collection.
Manchester City–PSG: injuries and absences
Manchester City will go into the showdown with almost a full squad. According to the latest reports, Maresca has no confirmed absentees, meaning Haaland, Doku, Cherki and Antoine Semenyo are all available.
For PSG, Senny Mayulu’s involvement is in doubt due to a leg injury, but Luis Enrique should otherwise be able to field his strongest lineup. Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Vitinha are all expected to be available.
Manchester City–PSG betting tips
Sports Mole’s statistical model gives Manchester City a 45.72% chance of victory, while PSG’s probability of winning stands at 32.59%. Opta’s calculations point to a similarly close contest.
Given both teams’ attacking strength, the goals markets could be particularly interesting. Sports Mole puts the probability of over 2.5 goals at 63.52%, and the probability of both teams scoring at 61.27%.
From a betting standpoint, we see both teams to score as the most interesting option, at the right odds. The over 2.5 goals market could also be a good choice, as both sides’ attacks are in outstanding form. We’ve taken our tip from Ivibet‘s odds.
