Yamal sets record? – goalscorer tips for Spain vs Italy
Lamine Yamal could score a record-breaking goal at any time, but he’s not the only one we have our eye on.
We started the 2024 European Championship with Johan Vonlanthen of Switzerland as the youngest ever goalscorer. Although Arda Güler’s incredible goal for Georgia moved him up to fifth place and made him the youngest ever debutant goalscorer at the European Championship, Spain’s superstar Lamine Yamal still has the tournament to write his name into the history books. But will that goal come against Italy?
It’s quite a list of the youngest goalscorers, with Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Cristian Chivu, Patrick Kluivert and even Ferenc Bene in the top 10, which is still led by the aforementioned youngster.
But Yamal, at 16, could not only be the youngest player, but also the youngest goalscorer if he scores for Germany. He had a good chance of doing so against Croatia, missing a goal and assisting on one occasion, and is expected to start against the Squadra Azzurra.
A single goal from the Moroccan-Guinean-Spaniard would cost 22bet a pretty penny, as he could be worth nearly five times the price of a goal from Gigi Donnarumma. The big question is whether Luciano Spalletti will make any changes after the somewhat bare-knuckle attacking display against the Albanians, or stick with Scamacca.
