Do we have to counter the CL winners? – free tip for AC Milan vs. Real Madrid
The teams are very much on the sidelines in Chicago, but it could still be a great 90 minutes.
At half past two in the morning, the CL winners will make their debut, Real Madrid will play their first match in Chicago against AC Milan. Carlo Ancelotti’s side will face Barcelona and Chelsea on the US tour, but it is far from certain that the Italian manager can be confident of victory against his former side.
As we have already reported on several matches, this is a time of massive rests for some teams, with players who have been involved in the European Championship and Copa for a long time not even back at their clubs, not to mention training.
This is the case now at Real Madrid, where with Carvajal, Mendy, Tchouameni, Camavinga, Valverde, Bellingham, Mbappé, Milito, Vinícius and Rodrigo all unavailable, we will see a very reserve side for the CL winners.
This could also be true for AC Milan, although the Rossoneri will be playing their fourth meeting at Soldier Field this summer. Although Fonseca’s side won their first meeting in the USA against Manchester City, they will be missing a number of players from the squad.
Lorenzo Colombo and Daniel Maldini, who scored a double against City, have also returned to Italy due to their club transfers, while Florenzi and Sportiello, who scored against Rapid, are both injured and will not be available for the Portuguese coach.
Leao, Okafor, Camarda and Zeroli were also last minute inclusions and will not start, so there are some interesting names not only for Spain but also for Italy.
Planned starting line-ups for the two teams
As described above, we expect a fairly mixed starting line-up, with several lesser-known names. For example, Italy have goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani left as a deployable goalkeeper, while the wedge could be driven by 20-year-old Marco Nasti.
At Real Madrid, Nico Paz will try to replace the Brazilian, while goalkeeper Courtois is a guarantee of quality in goal.
Milan (4-2-3-1): Torriani; Calabria, Tomori, Gabbia, Terracciano; Pobega, Bennacer; Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Saelemaekers; Nasti
Real Madrid (4-3-3): Courtois; Lucas Vazquez, Vallejo, Rudiger, Fran Garcia; Ceballos, Modric, Palacios; Brahim Diaz, Alvaro Rodriguez, Nico Paz
So what is the best tip?
With a slightly stronger Milan start, we’d take the Italians to win, but we won’t because of the many uncertain factors, and the bookies are already a bit set on the odds. So far, however, the US games have produced a nice number of goals, so there could be some fantasy in this one.
Almost exactly a year ago to the day, Real Madrid won 3-2 after a 0-2 first half, and we’re hoping for a similarly high-scoring game. We’ve based our betting on this logic, but we’re not picking a winner.
