PSG vs Barcelona prediction, team news & free tips
The PSG-Barcelona clash kicks off in Paris, with bookmakers predicting Mbappe to be the favourites in the first leg.
It was quite a match on Tuesday’s BL day, with both quarter-finals producing some great excitement and goals. However, there was no decider and the two draws mean that literally nothing was decided before the second leg.
We’re not sure that will change on Wednesday. We’re looking at an evenly matched encounter where it’s difficult to predict the odds. The PSG-Barcelona meeting is also a close one, although because of the pitch selection, bookmakers are clearly expecting the French champions to (rather) win.
Team news PSG vs Barcelona
Due to the Spanish Cup final, Barcelona did not have a league game this weekend, so they had nearly a week and a half to prepare for this encounter. This time was not bad for Xavi, but at the same time the key players in the midfield did not recover in time. Frenkie de Jong, Pedri and Gavi were left out of the line-up, as was Balde, but Christensen is in the frame. According to the Catalan press, Barca could start with the Lewa-Yamal-Rapinha trio up front, although Joao Félix could be a possibility in the latter’s place.
PSG warmed up for this game with a draw. Luis Enrique is visibly much more nervous than usual ahead of this game, with a few snide remarks to Xavi that could be a tool of psychological warfare. With PSG having long injured players (Kimpembe, Kurzawa, Rico), Hakimi’s suspension could be a real sore point for the French side.
Free tip for PSG vs Barcelona
Four years ago was the last time the two sides played each other and PSG, led by Mbappé, demolished Barca, who were still with Messi.Anyone who remembers those games will know that Barca simply had no solution to PSG’s quick attacks. They will have to pay serious attention to that now, as Mbappé hasn’t got any worse and will probably be extra motivated in a BL game against Barca, so there’s a good chance that one of the main contenders for the Ballon d’Or will find the net in Ter Stegen’s goal.
Our tips are also on the Turtle – in different versions. We don’t think PSG will lose this game at home, so adding 1X for Mbappe gives us odds of 1.97, and if we add the card option as a spice, we’re looking at odds of over 2.10.
