Serie A: We would take @5.00 odds on the weekend

Once again, we have analysed 3 matches from the current Serie A matchday.

Empoli-Milan

Milan, who have won four of their last five games, are starting to find themselves again, although the Salerno remi must still hurt the Rossoneri. Pioli will be the guests of Empoli for dessert on Sunday lunch, a team that is winless in six games and has only 5 away points, which makes them the league leaders. Both sides are missing a lot, but the usual Pulisic-Giroud-Leao trio could be deployed, although it would not be surprising if Luka Jovic sticks in the starting line-up after his double in midweek. Away, at 1.70, it’s not a good bet to win Milan, so we’ll skip the 1×2 bets, but the cards are worth a look. Only Lecce are averaging more cards than Milan away, and if we have a tight 90 minutes, we could see yellow cards on both sides.

Salernitana-Juventus

The Old Lady were not fazed, to say the least, by Salernitana taking the lead in Turin on Thursday in the Italian Cup, with Miretti responding with a six in a clash of reserve teams. That doesn’t bode well for the home team, even if they are coming off the back of an x against Milan and a success in Verona for Pippo Inzaghi’s boys. It’s still hard to say anything bad about the visitors, they brought the win against Roma, so Allegri’s boys will continue to cling on to Inter. Even if it doesn’t end in a six-goal game, Vlahovic’s side can still score 2-3 goals.

Roma-Atalanta

There’s no end to the action in Rome, with Napoli and Juventus followed by Atalanta, then Lazio in midweek and finally Milan next weekend. Mourinho’s side have a mixed record so far and, in truth, anything can happen against Atalanta. We don’t really dare to give a “normal” tip for the match, so we’ll go for red, as we often do for the capital. But in this fixture, there have also been five sending offs in the last five games, and Aureliano is not one of the heartbreak whistle masters. Interestingly, he dealt out 8+12 cards in a Cypriot championship match in September, spiced up with four reds. Now one is enough!
