No more dream final, but Messi could still sweat it out
According to the odds, the eventual winner has been decided, but we wouldn’t bet on it just yet.
Along with the European Championship, the semi-finals in North America have also been set up, with Argentina-Canada and Uruguay-Colombia set to play for the final. It’s simple, the bookmakers‘ odds suggest that Albiceleste are the quasi-opponent of what could be the Celeste, but to write off the Coffee Growers, unbeaten in their last 30 games, would be foolish.
Argentina and Canada both took penalties to reach the last 8, a surprise for the former, but a result the latter can be very happy with. The Maple Leafs were not favourites against Venezuela, but the shoot-out went in their favour and they will be playing for a medal at their first ever Copa.
The two sides have already met in this year’s tournament, with Argentina winning the opener 2-0, but Canada didn’t do too badly either, with 10 shot attempts and a 1.00 xG showing that Davies is not scared of the favourites. Still, the odds are clear, with Canada’s progression worth nearly 5 times the money.

One thing is for sure, if Argentina reach the final, they will be up against an opponent in hell of a form, brimming with confidence and producing a near-perfect Copa.
Argentina remains the clear frontrunner
Although Lionel Messi’s missed penalty made Argentina more likely to be knocked out than to progress, Scaloni’s men rose to the occasion and the defending champions may have completed their toughest match. A repeat success would pay well under 2, but what’s odd is the high odds Colombia have compared to the U’s. 22bet’s list is of course rounded off by Canada, and the odds of 25 are at best only thought-provoking because there are no odds of 5 against Argentina, and we would probably get a lower number in the final.
