Manchester City vs Real Madrid preview & 3 betting tips
The quarter-final between Manchester City and Real Madrid in the BL continues from 3-3. Check out Manchester City vs Real Madrid preview!
The two sides produced one of their best games of the season last week at the Santiago Bernabéu, so fans are rightly expecting Wednesday night’s clash to be another treat. The 3-3 draw in the opening leg is actually a result that both teams can be confident of, with City obviously in a home advantage and Real in a slim win.
In any case, the bookmakers have backed Real Madrid, as there is a huge difference in the odds offered on progression, with the Royal League’s semi-final at 3.20 times our money compared to City’s 1.34.
Team news Manchester City vs Real Madrid
Both teams warmed up for the second leg with wins over the weekend. City made light work of lowly Luton as Guardiola’s side ran out 5-1 winners, while Real Madrid took the three points from Mallorca at home. As expected, both managers tried to rest their best players, with Foden, Grealish, Rodri, Bernardo all absent for City, while for Real, Vinícius, Camavinga and Carvajal were substitutes, with Kroos and Rodrygo not playing a minute.
Big changes from the starting line-ups of a week ago are not really to be expected. For Real Madrid, Aurelien Tchouameni will miss the game due to a yellow card suspension and will be replaced by Camavinga in midfield.
We can expect virtually the same team from City, with the (positive) changes that Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker could return to the starting line-up. Both players will play key roles, and Walker’s defensive work against Vinícius will be much needed for England.
Free tips for Manchester City vs Real Madrid
From the first match it is difficult to say what to expect. City dominated for long spells in the away leg, but Real found the gaps in the shield and occasionally used luck to score goals. At the same time, we also saw bombs that were miraculous, long range goals at the end of great individual performances, and you can’t prepare for that.
We expect a similar fight and tempo in the return leg and with brilliant attacking performances on both sides, the goals should be there this time too. The goal/goal and 2.5 goals over options are available at 1.86 on Tippmixpro, which we think is a playable bet for this second leg. We can also risk second half over bets, which we’ll take at odds of over 1.70.
City have never lost to Real at home and have won all four meetings at the Etihad. Should they win their fifth in a row, we could be looking at close to triple odds on the goals version.
