Is the value in goalkeepers’ yellows in the finals?
One yellow is not a big price to pay if the end result is the coveted European Championship qualification.
Fateful matches will be played on Tuesday evening in the play-offs for the European Championship, with Georgia vs Greece, Ukraine vs Iceland and Wales vs Poland to decide which three teams will join the 21-team field for the continental tournament. The stakes are high and the games are not exactly straightforward.
We have already looked at the three games one by one, but now we have an interesting idea that seems all the more logical.
With such a huge stake, any means are allowed, and when a player’s team is just minutes away from a successful European Championship, stalling is not a problem for the footballers in the slightest. The goalkeepers, who always manage to cheat a few seconds off the kick-offs, can take their share of the blame. So we have now looked at the odds you can bet on at 22bet on the warning of the main goalkeepers.
It might be important to note, however, that it is not a good idea to bet on goalkeepers without a good reason. On the one hand, the odds are not outstanding, and on the other hand, there is no reason to bet on Iceland’s goalkeeper warning in case of a straightforward Ukrainian win, for example.
It’s a good idea to keep an eye on the goalkeepers if you think that after the 80th minute the team will be leading by two goals at most, but preferably by one.
Of course, a bit of arguing, fights and other things are always possible, but it is better to assume that the goalkeepers will be warned for time delay. In the semi-finals, only goalkeeper Lunin received a yellow card for time-wasting, while Ukraine were the only team not to have led by at least two goals before the interval.
