Tough rematches in the Champions League
Slovenian and Romanian Hungarian referees will be in charge of the two rematches on Tuesday.
As last week, we have two articles on the Champions League quarter-finals. On Tuesday, Barca vs PSG and Dortmund vs Atletico, with two star referees. Lets see the best odds from 22bet.
Borussia Dortmund-Atlético Madrid
Atlético Madrid head to Dortmund with a one-goal lead after a first leg with few fouls but 5 yellow cards. In Germany, we can expect a more defensive Atlético, which could even show in the cards – although the home side had more fouls and yellows in Wanda.
The match was hosted by Slovenian Slavko Vincic, who conducted the 2022 European Championship final. The 44-year-old skipper is preparing for his fifth game of the BL season, having been booked 14 times in previous meetings, while the Bayern-Lazio last eight was settled with three cautions. Vincic is an extremely experienced spor with a very mixed attitude.
Our tip is for at least 3 Madrid cards in the match, which was also the case at home. Although the current Atlético are not the 10-man defensive, woodworking side they were a few years ago, Griezmann’s side will probably settle for more counter-attacking. We wouldn’t be surprised if Borussia take the game with 0-1 card, so we’re offering a safe bet with lower odds.
Barcelona-PSG
In no small surprise, Barcelona won 3-2 in Paris to become the favourites in the match. Even though PSG seriously pressed Barca at times and the Catalan side received 4 cards, they did not play hard or sneaky at all.
Although Barca were on the defensive for much of the opening period, the French won the fouls 14-8, while the yellows were 3-4.
This time István Kovács from Carli was sent to Barcelona, who is preparing for his sixth BL match this year. In these he has 24 cards, while in the Villarreal-Marseille EL-match he received 8 yellow cards. However, Kovács has a massive over in him, he had a very good statistic in 2023, and it is no coincidence that the 5.5 limit in the return leg.
It’s hard to predict what the atmosphere will be like in this encounter, and the best bets are probably when we have a scenario for the return leg. With PSG needing at least a two-goal win to secure progress, we don’t expect much different from either team. However, it would also not be surprising if the team that is knocked out at the end were to lose the plot, which has been a regular occurrence for PSG in recent years.
So one of our picks is for the Catalans, while at higher odds we’ll try the red.
