We find out which team will face Real Madrid for the Spanish Super Cup trophy.

The semi-final between defending champions Barcelona and last year’s cup winners Osasuna continues in the Spanish Super Cup last four. The bookmakers are of course favouring Barcelona to win the match, with odds of around 1.40-1.45 currently on offer, although the opening odds were around 1.30 for a Barca victory.

Both sides played cup games at the weekend, but neither team really impressed, with Barcelona triumphing 3-2 over fourth division Barbastro, while Osasuna could only progress after extra time against second division Castellón.

Barca still have a number of injured and missing players. Ter Stegen, Marcos Alonso, Gavi, Inigo Martínez are all long term absentees, while Joao Cancelo and Pedri have travelled to Saudi Arabia but are unlikely to feature in the semi-final. Osasuna could also be missing a few players, such as striker Chimy Avila and Unai Garcia.

What is worth betting on?

Osasuna are winless in their last seven games against Barca, and have only managed to draw once, so there’s not much for the Pamplona side to hang their hat on. However, this will be a one-legged encounter played at a neutral venue, so we agree with the bookmakers to adjust their odds and back Osasuna.Barcelona are not really sharp right now these weeks, so there could be something to play for Osasuna.

Barcelona hasn’t won a game by a margin of two or more since September 19 (!).
