Are the bombshell surprises coming? – Here’s how the fight against relegation stands
Six teams could still be eliminated from Serie A, but it’s not clear that it makes sense to bet on the drop-outs.
Looking across all the top leagues, perhaps one of the most exciting questions of the 2023/24 football season is which teams will be eliminated from Serie A. Six teams are within 5 points and two are eliminated, so it’s worth taking a look at the games ahead.
Which team will eliminate from Serie A?
To put it mildly, the little ones were on a roll in the previous round, as no team was eliminated except for Salernitana, who had already been knocked out. The big winners of the round of seven draws are Verona, who managed to beat their rivals by 2 points, and the @50 odds indicate that Hellas are no longer a force to be reckoned with – leaving 5 teams.
But anything can happen from here… There are also Udinese-Empoli, Sassuolo-Cagliari and Frosinone-Udinese matches, which could determine the final standings.
Let’s be honest, it could also be an important factor which of the top teams playing without a bet will let off a bit of steam, Sassuolo-Inter for example was at least interesting, and Milan will now be the guests of Frosinone. Home success here pays nearly 5 times the money, maybe worth a miss…
We don’t have a strong bet, but what we are convinced of is that bookmakers‘ Sassuolo’s odds of @1.25 are stupid. First they visit Genoa, who are playing without a bet, then they host Cagliari, and if they get on a good run this could be 6 points.
Lecce-Udinese could also be an interesting match. The home side’s survival is already assured, so it’s no wonder that Lecce are also close to even odds, against a Udinese side that has won 2 games this calendar year.
What you might want to watch out for
Not only can you bet on Round 36, but the Round 37 matches are already up a 22bet, so they’ll probably stay up during the round. If Cagliari, for example, mathematically secure their survival this week, they are unlikely to bring any points at Sassuolo, but the Monza-Frosinone game could also be interesting if the visitors still need the points.
So let’s keep a close eye on the weekend’s results, as it could well be worth placing our bets a week in advance.
