UCL: PSG vs Liverpool, preview and betting tips

Although PSG are being written off by public opinion, the most exciting match-up could be this encounter in the last eight of the BL.

Despite winning the regular season, Liverpool have one of the toughest opponents in the Champions League last eight against PSG. The Parisians are in blistering form, and a side without star substitutes pose a huge threat to any of the favourites. This is reflected in the odds, as PSG are slight favourites at home, while everyone in the public is expecting Liverpool to progress.

This is not surprising, of course, because of Dominik Szoboszlai, but PSG should be taken seriously. Although they have suffered a lot in the first half of the series, they look like one of the most consistent teams this calendar year. In the autumn, Luis Enrique’s side were even threatened with relegation, but in their last four BL games they have produced four wins, 18 goals scored and some impressive football.
PSG have also won 19 of their last 20 matches, and even if you can’t help but be impressed by the French team, the brutal attacking play of Stuttgart and Manchester City has been unmissable.

In 24 games, PSG have scored 66 goals in the league and in recent weeks they have really gone into extreme gear. Dembele and Barcola should be singled out, but Doue and Kvaratskhelia are also playing well. The Spanish head coach has a very rich attacking arsenal and almost everyone is in good form.

Liverpool’s defence has been better again in the last two games, but Alisson will be severely tested at the Parc des Princes. Of course, Dominik Szoboszlai will not be left out of the line-up either, he will probably have to be involved in the defence with great intensity in the Paris game, so it could well be that most of the running km will again be next to the Hungarian’s name.

With practically no absentees on either side, both teams will be looking forward to the meeting with their strongest eleven.

What to bet on in PSG vs Liverpool?

We have been very impressed with the Parisian attack recently, so we are expecting a strong French game. Liverpool have been the best team overall so far this season, so based on the history, we’re in for one of the most exciting matches of the season.

With the home side looking to travel to Anfield Road with the advantage, it’s more likely that PSG’s attacking line will be in control of this game. The first legs are often characterized by a more subdued game, but we expect less of that this time. We expect the home side to have 15 shots on goal, which they have exceeded by far so far this season (26,26,22,26). Of course, Liverpool are a much stronger rival than PSV or Girona, but Atletico or City were also among the rivals. And in terms of attacking play this autumn, this PSG is way ahead…
