Manchester United face a tough game on Saturday as they visit Brentford. Although the Bees are far from top form, they are still a dangerous team, and Erik ten Hag’s side could be in for a tricky night.

Before the international break, Manchester United achieved a cup success by beating Liverpool 4-3 in a dramatic extra-time game, but the play on show still leaves something to be desired. However, there is no need to explain their advance, and the draw was also a good one, as they will face Coventry in the semi-finals.

In the championship, the aim is still to secure a place in the Champions League, for which a fifth place seems to be enough. They are currently six points behind Tottenham, but Aston Villa are only six points ahead of the Red Devils in terms of points lost. So there is little room for error, especially against bottom-of-the-table rivals.

Brentford’s season is going badly. Ivan Toney’s return has allowed them to make some improvements, but the results are still not visible. This is partly due to a difficult draw in recent weeks, as well as huge defensive mistakes which have gifted their rivals big chances.

The wind of relegation is starting to blow for Brentford, and this team deserves much more than relegation. The home side still have a lot of injuries, with Ben Mea, Christian Norgaard and Ethan Pinnock the most notable absentees. Sergio Reguilón will be suspended against United.

Manchester United also have a large number of injuries (Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Anthony Martial), while Harry Maguire and Casemiro are questionable to play. In addition, Amad Diallo is serving a ban.
